The Bollywood fashion designers are thriving with competitive international style that many events and shows organized by them in the city directly or indirectly supports and enhances the commercial growth in the state, thereby influencing in the entire country too. The Bollywood celebrities, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Aamir Khan, and Salman Kahn… are renowned worldwide. Most of the foreigners knew Bollywood well, than any other film industries in the country. The enchanting music in the Bollywood films, which would be usually wrapped up using vibrant colors, attractive casts, sentimental elements, and all time exciting dance beats, make it quite popular all over the world that most of the people consider Bollywood to be the Indian film industry. The production and distribution of the Hindi films, apart from the making cost of the films, would be contributing predominantly to the country GDP, every year.

Rail

With the rapid transit rail transport, the Mumbai metro station under construction, it has got variety of rail transports, and headquarters of two Indian railways zones, namely the Central Railway and the Western Railway. Further, the Suburban Railway system, a part of the public transport in Mumbai, is quite popular in the city which is being used for the routine commutation by the people and also renowned for its overwhelming crowd who most of the time travel by attaching themselves like a curtain on the doorsteps of the train. In the year 2007, it set a record by carrying 6.3 million passengers every day, and the rail networks are well spread say around 319 kilometers accounting to a total of 2226 train services. The Mumbai Metro project comprises of three phases, costing the project to value about 36, 000 crore, the Phase I is expected to get accomplished in the year 2015 after which the other phases would be launched into action.

Road

Transportation via Mumbai roads involves various express ways, highways, and other intercity roads, thereby connecting the city in a most better way to the rest of the country, enabling the public bus services of Mumbai to carry more than 5.5 million passengers in the year 2008. The city is being served by national highways 3, 4, and 8 of the India’s National Highways System, moreover the 93 km Mumbai-Pune Expressway runs across Maharashtra, connecting Mumbai and whereas the Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway, connecting Vadodara in Gujarat and Mumbai in Maharashtra is under construction, besides the project of connecting the Mumbai suburbs to the down town, namely the Western Freeway, and the project with objectives of connecting the Eastern Express Highway to the South Mumbai, are also under construction.

Air

One of the major aviation hubs in the country, the Mumbai international airport called as the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport is considered significant for business and commercial purpose, which does serve around 25 million passengers in the year of 2008, and would be the topping the list of busiest airports in the country in terms of passenger traffic. If the proposed Navi Mumbai International airport, which is set to be established in the Kopra - Panvel area, is accomplished would certainly bring the Mumbai city to customers’ all-time favorite wish list!
